"Harper said the U.S. has also agreed to return at least $4 billion in duties it has collected since 2002 to Canadian producers."
"Graham lamented the fact the agreement will leave $1 billion collected unfairly from Canada's softwood producers in U.S. hands."

That would be 500 million more than your guy could have got.

HArper pissed away $1 billion to the US on this deal. 10 times more than adscam.
Like HArper said about skyrocketing gas prices, GET USED TO IT.
Good research paul and HH. 3.5B. CDN. is 3.0B US which means 1B. more. But maybe it sets a bad precedent. We shall see.

Hey Anona-mouse, I guess that means that the Conservatives just saved us 1 Billion dollars that the Liberals would have pissed away with their deal, which thankfully Emerson persuaded them against at the time (although it is more of Anti-Americanism than Emerson in that). The CPC government has just saved Canadians from another 10 adscams, and they just started to govern. Good times ahead :)
The liberals would have kept it up for another ten or twenty years just so they could continue their disgusting american bashing. We were NEVER going to get it all back better to get most back now than less later.
We should be getting it all back, with interest, regardless of which bozzo is in Ottawa.
