Extreme COLD Ends Global WARMING Protest March

Greenpeace activists Lonnie Dupre and Eric Larsen were forced to quit their crossing attempt of the Arctic Ocean due to unusually COLD and ICY weather.

They were attempting the crossing to call attention to global WARMING, however extreme weather conditions forced them to abandon what would have been the first summertime crossing of the Arctic Ocean, environmental group Greenpeace said on Friday.

A statement from Greenpeace said the pair encountered "unusual" heavy snow and ice conditions, and had to be evacuated by a civilian helicopter.

Greenpeace believes the cold weather conditions were probably due to global warming.

I thought quite seriously about that whole "global warming" thing last summer. Which was cold and wet and sucked.

Russ, you sound like a pretty smart guy, so I'm not gonna scienticate here with you.

But..."precipitation since 1970 has averaged about 5% more than in the previous 70 years" - 5% increase 70 years aint gonna make me go build an ark.

and..."cold season precipitation has increased by almost 10% during the last century. Over the period 1950 to 1990, annual snowfall increased by about 20% over northern Canada and by about 11% over Alaska" - is bullshit. Ask any snowmobilier. Were lucky to get a month of good snow. A coupla years ago we had at least three.

Now Russ, maybe being in Vancouver and gettin rained on daily might be influencing your opinion ;)
