Harper Will Call Election "Within 30 days of Grewal inquiry report"

Conservative leader Stephen Harper asks Canadians for time to clean up Grewal scandal:

OTTAWA (CP) - Mr. Harper appealed directly to Canadians for a few more months in opposition Thursday, promising an election within 30 days of the final Grewal inquiry report.
His extraordinary entreaty on national television and radio was immediately dismissed as that of "a party leader playing for time, begging for another chance," by Liberal Leader Paul Martin.

Harper's pledge would see Canadians go back to the polls in January 2006, following the final recommendations from the Grewal report, Due out December 15th.

"Let the Judge do his work. Let the facts come out and then the people of Canada will have their say." said Mr. Harper.

"We've all just witnessed a sad spectacle, an opposition leader so burdened with a tape recording of our Liberal corruption that he's unable to do his job and lead the country," said Martin.

"As you can see in this post as an example, the Grewal scandal is destroying Canada" said corruption expert Tom, "and it could possibly cause a mass extinction across the whole planet."

"I suggest" adds Tom "Mr. Harper and the whole Conservative party immediately resign and be imprisioned so as to not infect anyone else with their Liberal corruption tape recordings"

The CBC in BC (The Current) ran a peice on the Grewal's. It included an interterview with husband and wife the morning after the last election. The CBC "enhanced" the audio and told listeners that Mr. Grewal wispered in his wifes ear an answer to a question. The question was what is the first thing you will do in Ottawa. The announcer made a huge deal of and implied that he was pulling his wifes strings. They then had an indo-Canadian columnist come on and just hatchet Mrs Grewal saying that she was inept and stating she only got elected because she was a Conservative in a Conservative riding. They refered to her as a "new comer" to the political scene and that no one knew much about her. The show went to great lenghts to make personal attacks on the couple and thier ablilities and motivations for the taping of conversations. As I listened I thought what if Belina Stonach had taped her conversations where the cabinet seat was agreed on once she moved to the Liberals and the deal fell apart and she released the tapes. Would she have been ripped to shreds by the media. A white, attractive and articulate women. Would Belinda, also a "newcomer" to polictics, have been raked over the coals for having alterior motives. Not likely. The CBC report and other media attackes are completely racist. Make the comparison. Can you see Belinda being ridiculed if she had instead nailed the Liberals for offering a polictical goodie in exchange for moving across the isle. Note how the few half-hearted negative comments on her jump to the Liberals has died in the media. The lack of vitrol in comparison to the current attacks on a indo-Canadian women with little or no resources and "advisors" that Belinda has access to not to mention her ties to the eastern media establishment. That is the real story. The racist approach to this story. Lets hear about that!

Duffy was actually MODERATE on it tonight. And was discussing, not arguing, but discussing whether or not the ethics commissioner should be investigating Murphy. Even made a point of reading out the ruling on behavior (although shortened it a bit).

passing strange. something's afoot.

Do you think the MSM have finally figured out the disparity between a guy providing tapes from his website, complete with phone records...
to 3-4 high end Liberals calling the tapes into question (without ever denying having said the things that were said), and NOT providing their own phone records...???
and then the fast-footed ethics commissioner...

Hmmmm. Maybe I'm just a pollyanna, but I dunno. Especially now that the CPC is going to the Law Societies. Excellent call.
